Writer's Block: Love is deaf
[info]racistdragon

Could you spend the rest of your life with someone who had horrific taste in music? How important is it to you to share your love of music with a good friend or romantic partner?

Hahahahaha. No.

Music is very important to me. I think, if I had to define myself category-wise, I'd pick Writing - Music - Reading. I share my love of music with everyone I know! Same with books and my own writing. :)

I've got several things to work on, but I have no idea where to start.

Photo Hopes and Another "Start"
[info]theverticalbar
While White Rabbit Studios had a wonderful start in August of 2009, I'm super excited to see what 2010 holds for us. Mind you, my business partner and her husband and child are planning on moving within the next couple of years or so...but I still think it's important to plan on us being a partnership indefinitely. Because we'll probably find a way to maintain the business, even with miles between us.

Anyway, 2010. Onward to a new year full of new ideas. We are hoping to master the photo booth and be able to offer it as part of a wedding package. We had a "booth" set up for an art show a Lowe Mill and we had an absolute blast! You can view some of our favorite shots here. We have two weddings we are definitely planning to set it up, including my friend Billy White's wedding (lol it's a nice day for a White wedding!) I'm really excited for that wedding. His family are characters and their friends will make for great photo booth subjects. He and his gorgeous fiance are getting married at Burrit, and Steph and I already know that place is nothing but great backdrops. We'll probably get in touch with some of our other brides and see if they are interested. I don't want to promise too much until we've got every detail of this down...

Another thing we are hoping to add is the option to have Super8 video. This is exciting because although Super8 doesn't record sound, it will be SO much fun to add a sweet song and create a montage of happy memories for the loving couple and their families. I also want to boost our film options and hopefully build an online portfolio for it.

I'd also like to have some pre-made options for Save the Dates, birth announcements, invites, etc. I know this is more Andy's territory, but I think I could whip up some templates to at least get some fresh design on our page.

Hi-Fi Weddings

After sitting on the idea a while I've finally gotten my butt in gear and got Hi-Fi Weddings started. Unconditional love and thanks to Andy for helping me execute the details for this new design, that I adore! I'm sending out emails to all of my favorite bloggers tomorrow in hopes they'll fall in love with this idea and will be interested in mentioning HFW on their blog. In exchange, I'll give them a free ad spot. My head is spinning with ideas for this site. Do I want to do a formatted type post and a Q & A of sorts? Or do I just want people to submit what they want, and I'll just blog about it? I'm kinda thinking the latter so I don't push myself into a corner. Music will be the main content, and I'd like to set it up where you can hear the song and even purchase it. Should I do itunes or amazon or or or? I'd also like to do monthly mixes...or at least seasonal mixes of love songs and such. I'm hoping to build up some content and have enough to launch it all by Valentine's Day. Eventually, I'd also like it to be a place where brides can find like-minded vendors to be the perfect fit to their wedding day. Whew...I guess time will tell how this venture goes.

i'm not beautiful like you... I'M BEAUTIFUL LIKE ME!

My first order of business on my website will be writing reviews of the three John Green books and tidying up the FOTC page... and I'm thinking a list of everything I love and am obsessed with would be good. So people will be aware. I love a LOT of things. :) We might have common interests you don't even know about yet!

tattoos.
[info]theexits

it's been awhile since i showed off my tattoos. i feel like the scissors need touched up. i want more but am not sure what i want yet. i'm thinking about a dolphin jumping through a ring of fire with some stars and butterflies. (totally kidding. that was not to be taken offensively. do you know how much crap i deal with because of mine?)

day off work; unable to sleep so i woke up early, made cheesecake for tonight's little dinner party, washed the dishes, went to the post office to send letters & spent too much money on postage stamps, ate a croque-monsieur, organized all of my music, downloaded some new music, trudged around in the snow. by the way, the snow today is so light & fluffy it looks fake!

in march i will have had this journal for SEVEN YEARS. holy moly that's a long time.

I took hundreds of pictures on NYE, but because of my lack of skill with my new lens (not to mention my excessive consumption of very cheap champagne), they were mostly terrible. Fortunately, this one turned out. 2 of my favorite people!

A New Year and lots of love so far
[info]amandakenney
This year has been a good one. And, this new year I feel is going to be just as good--and ten times more busy. I'm going in with energy and lots of hope.

The week went by quickly. I had off since my son was home for winter break. My sister, her husband and my three year old niece came for a long visit. We ate at the Italian place downtown on New Years Eve and brought our own wine. All the white lights on the trees and the bit of snow we got made it so wondrous! We hung out in pj's, shopped, went to the bead boutique for some jewelry goods (my sister likes to make a necklace each time they visit), Chinese food, some cooking in, Belgian waffle making and coffee shop visits. New Year's Eve was game playing, dressing fancy (for the Italian) and some drinks and lots of laughing. If you can spend the moment into the new year laughing so hard your belly aches, you are doing well.

Last night we met my dearest friend in Frederick and got to meet her fiance'. We ate veggie burgers and dank beer with orange slices (I want orange slices every time now! Yum!) and visited for hours. After we stopped off for coffee and they gave us tons of free donuts (late night). Haha So good.

Today is lots of resting and relaxing. The week will start tomorrow and we'll be back to the daily. Hope everyone had a wonderful New Year's Eve!

chewy chocolate-raspberry cookies

so mike and i have decided to try and go vegan in 2010. scary! but i'm motivated. last night we had a hankerin' for chocolate chip cookies, so we took out our shiny new copy of the veganomicon (thanks mom!) and found a recipe for these chewy chocolate-raspberry cookies. we trekked to the grocery store in the freakin' blizzard, came home and voila! they're incredibly rich and "chewy" is an understatement, so the hardest part was not running out for a gallon of milk to wash them down with.

i'm going to try to make every recipe in the book that doesn't contain rosemary (which makes mike violently ill) or fennel (GROSS) and document them here. can you tell i recently watched julie & julia? yeah.
